RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore), who has been on a losing streak in their last 4 matches are expected to make significant changes in their squad for their upcoming game against KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders). This game is going to be held on Friday 5th April at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In fact, the Virat Kohli led RCB is desperate for a win in this particular match so as to keep their hopes alive in this tournament.
So far, the performance of RCB has been below par and they have lost all their 4 matches till date. Their skipper has confessed the fact that it is a do-or-die battle for the side and they will go all out for a win. In their last match in Jaipur against Rajasthan Royals, they lost the game by 7 wickets and today they are going to face the well-balanced KKR side which has already registered 2 victories out of 3 matches so far.
RCB last won against KKR in the year 2016 at the Eden Gardens and since then they have failed to win against their fancied opponents in as many as 3 encounters at this particular stadium.
The biggest drawback of the RCB side is the failure of their batsmen and the likes of Kohli as well as AB de Villiers are not up to the mark. In fact, de Villiers and Parthiv Patel are the only 2 batsmen who have averaged more than 20 in this tournament so far.
In their first encounter against the CSK (Chennai Super Kings), RCB failed to make
In their match against the powerful Sunrisers Hyderabad, RCB bowlers were not effective and SRH made a score of 232 in 20 overs. Following this, RCB literally surrendered the match with 6 wickets falling for only 35 runs in 8 overs.
The same can be said of their match against Rajasthan Royals where the top order of RCB failed miserably. Let us hope that the RCB batsmen will be able to make their fans elated in this match against KKR.
On the other hand, although KKR managed to lose their last match by only 3 runs against Delhi Capitals, their batting has delivered the goods with the likes of Nitish Rana, Robin Uthappa, Shubhman Gill, and Andre Russell in scintillating form. Russell, in particular, has shined with the bat in this tournament and has single-handedly won the match for his side on at least 2 occasions. He will pose a great challenge for the RCB bowlers including Chahal who is in good form in this tournament.
Nitish Rana has lived up to the expectations as an opener and he has also played well in the middle order. We will be watching the performance of Shubhman Gill very closely in this match against RCB who happens to be a future prospect for the Indian national side.
